Bears have evolved the ability to shapeshift into anything (or anyone) you can imagine! (Or maybe your eyesight is just really poor?) Either way, one wrong step could be your last in the randomly generated world of Super Bearland. Hunt those beasts down before they hunt you! Talk to people to get Clues about the Bear's location and disguise. Check objects to find the Tools you need to take the Bear down! But if you accidentally Talk to or Check the Bear, it's Game Over! Each round lasts 2-5 minutes, but no two games are alike with randomized levels, optional challenges, and a heaping helping of unlockables. Keep playing and experimenting to see if you can find them all!

Instructions:

WARNING: Contains flashing light effects and "jumpscares" upon losing. If you are sensitive to either of these, disable them in the Settings Menu. Circle Pad / D-Pad: Move L / R / Hold Touch Screen: Fast Forward "T" in the top left corner: Toggle Typewriter Animation Bear Trap: Throw at suspected Bears to eliminate them. Bearometer: Determines if a Bear is in the current Town. Super Bear Trap: Eliminates the current Town, and everything inside. Decoy: Automatically prevents one Theft attempt.

Here's some minor bugs I found: Start a new game and play to results, then the version text at the bottom left has increased in size due to the last text size being greater than 1. You are unable to change the typewriter feature at certain times, including in the intro tutorial.
I'm aware of the first one, there should be a fix for the next release. Typewriter settings can be changed when the text is not actively being typed, by design.

That challenge doesn't currently exist. Are you asking how to add in custom Challenges? For that you would need to add the description and a unique letter code like the other Challenges have. And you'd need to call the Challenge Checker method each time a Town is hit by a Nuke-in-the-Box. Does that help?

Why are you just stating that you like FNAF? Or are you saying that this game is like FNAF? If the latter, It's not even the same genre, Are you just saying that because there's jumpscares? News flash, A game having jumpscares does NOT make it like FNAF.

Funny enough, Bearland actually came first. Not Super Bearland, but a prototype I built for a class project just called Bearland. 1-2 years later when Five Nights was announced, other students came up to me and were like, "Somebody stole your bear thing!"

I don't know if this was answered already or not, but there are just a lot of comments here. Will this game get a Switch port anytime soon? I saw that the English port of SB4 was releasing next week so I'm just adding on to the list of games to play.

I'm very much considering it. But it would have to be a remake, not a port. There are a lot of things I need to figure out first, like would it be a 1:1 remake or would it be a full fledged sequel? Would it stay text based, or would it get a total graphical makeover? And... it's difficult to decide on a menu layout that looks professional and feels right. It's the one time I miss the dual screens. So many choices

Unfortunately a direct port/conversion isn't possible, so instead I'd like to open this up for serious discussion: If Super Bearland came to the Switch, what would you want/expect from that title? Something as close as possible to the original? Something as different as possible? Should it be text-based, or make the jump to full graphics? Was there anything missing from the original that a sequel absolutely needs?

I think I would just want as close to a full remake of the original as you could make; but I can think of a few ideas. I recall the notes page in the game being of limited use. Maybe this was on purpose (you could just write everything down, of course) but if it WASN'T, maybe a log screen that shows everything that's happened so far, along with the information you've learned. Of course you can see the visited state of certain towns on the screen, so that's already information you have. I liked the presentation of the original, but more graphics and little animations for everything would be appreciated too. A little player icon walking on the map, sprites for talking to people, event animations, etc. And of course:
If you want to be goofy, you can use LMATRIX tricks to put the display into portrait and force people to hold their switch sideways (don't do this unless you provide an option.)

Haha I wish it was as easy as plugging it into some LMATRIX layers. Unfortunately there are too many changes in the syntax, to the point where it would probably be less work to just remake it all. I did add an alternate notebook, specifically for 2 BEARS mode, which directly writes down every hint that you get in order. I made that one completely comprehensive to help with the fact that all the clues are vague in which Bear they refer to. I could probably add an option to enable that regardless of what mode you play, if you think it's worthwhile
