Hey SB community it's L. again, this time treating you to Mazento Mori, a bizarre retroesque RPG originally created by Rwiiug! *From Rwiiug: This is not a creator-endorsed translation but L.'s adaptation--a fan mod.* You play as a valiant Journer who braves the dangerous mazes with Yurei the ghost gal as partner, slaying monsters with Skills and Spells in hopes of uncovering the hidden mystery. Can you clear the game? In the beginning you find yourself amnesic, not knowing why you're in the dungeon. As you tread forward or backward you will start to encounter menacing foes that you must kill or flee from to survive, and slight puzzles to solve. Use Skills or Spells during encounters, but some monsters have special abilities that might nullify your attacks or mess up your Stats, so plan wisely! In this game, death is one of your friends: the more you die, the stronger you become (bonuses apply in proportion to the # of deaths). But true experts aim for the no-death rewards!

Instructions:

See in-game instructions for details. -In battle: Hit B to use combat Skills (generally cost HP or Stats) and X to use magic Spells (mostly cost your Mana). -Adjust your stats, Skills, and Spells by going in your Mind and use the D-pad. Earn Mana points to increase stats and advance the game to gain Skills and Spells. Some moves can only be obtained by finding the hidden mini-bosses.

This looks so great! I can't wait to play! I expect to get a lot of play time from this!

Grate game and grate translation give the creator my regards can't wait for magic story

Rwiiug is so awesome ;w; These graphics don't remind me of SmileBASIC

How is this different from the original game? Is there a translation for the original one?

There isn't a direct TL for the original one, because for this particular work Rwiiug refuses to explain, clarify, or verify whether my understanding is right or not. He thinks it's interesting to see how others comprehend the plot, even though it may not be what he intended. So I took the Ace Attorney approach and added a bit of my own creative adaptation (probably only 5%). And I altered some of the move stats and added the save clear data function. His "Lunar Saviors" (a 3rd Ogiri contest winner) though, I did a faithful translation and did not alter anything else.

I know this game has been out for a while now but I need some help.
SpoilerIn the first dungeon, I made my way to the two blue barriers with the codes "131→" and "161←".
What do I do next and why?

Thanks!

I've beaten the first dungeon, and I have to say, drawing out a map while you explore is really satisfying.

the second screenshot hooked me the most because anime

I asked two of my more artistically-gifted pals in Discord if they'd be interested in drawing Yurei since they were in a ghost-themed mood, and they obliged! https://twitter.com/SFtoons/status/936726456104882177 This one I assisted in making it, since the artist (DK64Ranger, who doesn't have the social medias) typically draws on paper. https://twitter.com/SFtoons/status/936727249851699206 I also included the Twitter posts where the art was shared with Rwiiug. Hopefully he responds!
