Description Introducing Celestrium. This game is all about adventure and fun but in its current versions it is not at Version 1.0 yet meaning many things have not been Added yet. For anyone wondering I have been focusing on my school and getting that done instead of working on this but for now just know you most likely wont get anything from this too soon. I'd love to wrok on this and stuff but juggling doing this and schoolwork (along with other stuff I am doing in my life) is just a bit too hard for me right now. You may have noticed warriors name on here and that is because he is indeed helping though currently working on something else. UPDATE 0.93 IS RELEASED!! Its the nearest thing you will get to Terraria in SmileBasic (but is not to be confused as a Terraria clone!, the engine is very nice and holds worlds 1000x1000 in size but can at the largest be 2000x2000 so i may extend it a bit depending, or add a feature allowing you to choose a larger world in the future. while there been debate i want to firmly state THIS IS NOT A CLONE OF TERRARIA. If you look around sbs you will find no game like terraria in any way other then Petitworld, this is of my own making ONLY, aside from help i get from others (such as random guy and Nathaniel) the whole game is made by me. now to the good stuff. for anyone wondering, the terrain generation is not near done but i got the grass/forest biome working very nicely. Currently it has, 4 biomes, forest, snow, sand and jungle. while they (excluding forest) are not done and pretty much empty in the future i will add all the stuff i can think of, just is hard to add things sometimes the forest biome has *Randomly generated trees *Random grass and flower stuff on the ground *Smooth terrain And more before anyone blabs about copyright for the sprites, every one it has was made solely by me (and the wood by random guy) with no looking or trying to copy terraria sprites, so as i said on chat "grass is grass" there is no copying a 8x8 grass tile unless you really try idk if anyone reads this but yes i know the map and inventory buttons do nothing because they are not added but will be soon Instructions Move using circle pad or Dpad. To place blocks press on the touch screen and tap R to place but it is EXTREMELY UNFINISHED and not intended for mining use as of yet so please dont complain about it as it is being removed and made better anyways. To mine you can press in the direction you want to go and hold x but this is soon to be changed To save world press L. To move item in inventory drag them or push a then move with circle pad or dpad To generate the world Do the stuff your told to do Notes

For anyone wondering I have been focusing on my school and getting that done instead of working on this but for now just know you most likely wont get anything from this too soon. Current thing being worked on: Fixing code/bugs and adding crafting/more stuff Upcoming tasks:Add the first crafting menu, Finish new worlds stuff. Warrior has joined DEV as a coder *yay* :) may dev go well and a bit faster maybe idk, but good. Update 0.93 Game (all) updates, Progress:100% complete. Finished:Worlds now take half the space they used to, crashing thing fixed, added new world things, better generation slightly, new sprites, inventory system and item variables+moving items, touch compatibility, deleting items, dynamic graphical animations for moving things, much more improved title screen still in the process of being made with moving, settings, credits, world loading, multiple worlds, multiple characters (still being made), easter eggs, title logos and much more..

Programming Strength First Year My account is over 1 year old Website Two reasons, 1: I love the way terraria looks and theres is really not much other ways to make a game like this so really any way i went would look like terraria and 2: the game was first thought up as a way to create a game similar to terraria on SB because i was told many times that it would not work or would not be very good, this was when i started SB so I started this project up as a way to prove it was possible (and i think i have proven it now). whatever i say or do something is still going to be like terraria, thats just what going to happen when trying to make an engine similar to another engine in some ways but the games on SB (especially the maps) were starting to get all the same so I started to make this to start something new, or something that would last. there are not many games on SB that will last when you play them(im not saying there arent any, just that there arent that many), its either too hard or too short/boring so this game is supposed to be the gap in that bridge, a game that when played won't just go to the dump of your already played games but into the area of games you want to play again. Express Yourself RNG Hidden Easter Eggs Good Page Hidden Achievements That being said, the imagery, (while not exactly the same as Terraria) are clearly stylized from and remarkably similar to Terraria's resources to the point where if you don't examine them very, very closely they appear identical. I think the question being asked here is why not take the engine's resources in a completely different direction instead? I think it's a fair question, myself. Had I poured as much talent and effort into a project of this scope as you have, I'd personally have opted to go the opposite route to underline the point that this was NOT Terraria, and that it was my brain child alone. I think people are more tempted to disregard your blood,sweat,tears, and effort simply because they see what appears to be a Terraria port and go, "Oh, it's just Terraria." Not to mention the foresight in regards to minimizing its being taken down due to how insanely similar it appears to be from a purely graphical standpoint. (Everyone gets an opinion, even in such cases where they can't even back them up, and because of that- the remarkable similarity is inevitably going to throw that monkey wrench into your work the more popular it becomes. And I assure you it will become very popular. Food for thought) To bypass flaming replies from those with little reading comprehension skills: I am not discrediting the talent or creativity that went into Celestrium. In fact, my commentary is based upon my appreciation of Picy3 and team's talents, and the desire to see it succeed as much as it should. Someone said it looks like one, which it does. If enough people get that impression, whether they are knowledgeable enough to know it isn't is irrelevant- there could be a problem down the road. Celestrium getting removed due to that ignorance would be a travesty, IMO, so why take the chance? Celestrium is quickly turning into a polished game with full-length potential and replay value. Let's be real here- sooner or later this will hit outside awareness through YouTube or other avenues we can't even predict. Even if this squeaks past SmileBoom, it's only a matter of time before someone dumb ruins it for all of us and Ninty takes notice. Remember, this is running on the same system that is still selling Terraria... To be perfectly clear- this project is already quite close to threatening their sales, and that's a problem that I assure you Ninty will stop if they can. My view on the matter is why give them anything they can use to shut it down if it can be prevented? Besides, the aesthetics at this point go well and beyond one simple example, such as your hypothetical gun- the whole thing resembles Terraria so your point is moot. Come to think of it, I like to put my money where my mouth is: Should you want assistance, Picy3, coming up with different aesthetics I'm more than happy to try and help. There are several, several different ways of achieving a different look- you are by no means locked in with Terraria's approach. (I play a lot of Terraria and think many of their elements, especially the trees, are fugly but that's personal preference). I apologize for both the length and number of edits, but it's an important enough issue that I seriously think some forethought should go into. (which i add I'm happy with the detail and effort put into them) so I've thought and its kind of hard to say this in an understandable way but the graphics are and will be changing a lot (if someone can make a nice tree ill gladly use it, this one was the best my treealiterate hand could make so just tell my and make it as ONE blob (not split) on the GRP) but the world will be a small part of this game so try to remember that while i make this I am mostly trying to make all its functions and things work. For other stuff like making it look very different I cant really do too much about that until many other things have been added (but one of these updates there will be major change). But that isn't to say I don't like how the game looks, its just that if I were to play a Terraria-like game on the 3DS I would likely get bored of it in seconds. I’ve played and tested through game, and i think you should focus on making it more compact and as bug free as possible. Adding more right now might make the game feel unstable, because no new feature is rarely without bugs. Have .94 be more bug fixes than anything. You will thank your self later. You probably want to add stuff because that’s fun :> so yes, add crafting after the bugs have been squashed, then add better controls?? Using the circle pad to move AND aim at areas to break blocks is not a hot combo, The bottom screen has lots of potential, have like a circular area that translates the touch x and y to the same circular area on screen, and use L and R to break and place blocks. Still use the circle pad to move. Saving the map could be a button combo like A + L. Water is hard, don’t go down that path yet. Working on lighting would be smart too. Programming Strength For making the blocks below the player darker you could try using gfills to fill where a group of blocks are, do a little calculation, and get rid of some of the filled in area based on the calculation and thickness of the group. A form of antialiasing could be used to smooth out the dark but I don't know how to do that. I'm working on a sprite render technique for my game which allows near infinite (or at least more than the allowed sprites) amounts of things that require sprites but are only rendered with them when on screen. That could be useful for making things with light effects but you would have to rewrite your engine to impliment it. Programming Strength First Year My account is over 1 year old Website weapons dont break in terraria, but on a side note i think maybe we should make something so they dont break but get say old or rusty idk making them less powerful over time, they can be like fixed by an NPC by paying them to fix your weapons back to full power. how does anyone feel about this, it would give weapons less of a "always powerful" look and more of a over time they get run down instead of just randomly breaking. oh and coins *ding ding" there should be machines to make money for you sometimes if you feed it with say the right ores. but i think i cool idea would be to randomly get coins from digging near the surface and having only to clean them once you find them to use them. and lastly, the TILE darkness (getting darker in the world tiles like not letting you see until light is there) is currently not known how i am gonna do it (i even asked Nathaniel and he did not know)but worry not i am trying to find a way to do it still. You should check a flash game called Red Rogue(http://redrogue.net/) and the research that the author made to make that game. Programming Strength starbound was once called the spiritual succesor to terraria after terraria had gotten cancelled after the 1.1 update after that, terraria was un-cancelled for the 1.2 update! (woo-hoo!) and after THAT happened terraria and starbound were both in development at the same time (starbound was in beta at around that time) eventually starbound got a 1.0 release!
