NNID worth it? Any cons?

I have a bunch of stuff on my o3ds I'd like to share with the community but I'm not sure if I should get a Nintendo Network ID. Are there any cons? And are there any pros? (Other than sharing SB stuff :P) Also I might get a n3dsXL because my old one is breaking, will I be able to transfer my SB files, NNID, game progress, and bought games over to the new 3ds?

How do you not have an NNID yet? It's required for pretty much every online service Nintendo offers.

SB files, NNID, bought games, and game progress of digital games all can be transferred to different systems if you have a NNID. I don't think you can transfer that stuff without a NNID. Physical games save data on the cartridge, so that should never be an issue. A NNID is sort of like a dumbed down Steam account. It keeps track of all your purchases so you can recover digital games in the case of catastrophe. The problem is, the system is really convoluted if it actually comes to that situation. You also get the social media that comes with the account. Finally, you get hooked into the free online gaming network that the system is named after, which allows you to play online games (obviously).

No cons
