It would be wise to stay offline from now on, to avoid spotpass blocking the browser
This is a very rare opportunity.

#25✎ 322RNGesusI have gotten ironhax and browserhax working on my New Nintendo 3DS XL. My system currently has the latest update and had it during the installation process. The steps are *slightly* different for the New 3DS or maybe the exact same, I found out that you need to goto the settings on the browser and clear the memory every time you attempt to open browserhax. If it doesn't work, then try again.

It's OK if your 3DS is at the current firmware (10.3). You'll be able to downgrade to 9.2 and have a fully hacked device.
Once you have it hacked you can run a CFW and use the emuNAND, a copy of the system memory running from the SD card. You'll be able to update the emuNAND to the latest firmware.
Just stay offline for now.
NEVER put the system is sleep mode with WIFI enabled, or an update may be released and the web browser may get disabled, making the process much more difficult.

Or, avoid all that, use the old eShop downloader and install ironhax. Untraceable and unbreakable (as long as you don't update Ironfall, which IIRC they can't force you to do).

How much space is there on your SD card? Ironfall takes mmm 2GB maybe?
Also, Google is a pretty good resource for simple questions.

I personally prefer to have all of my device's official functions in perfect working order (i.e. updates and online) and am in general a play-on-the-safe-side kinda guy, so that's as far as I'm going to go.
And it's not like I'm ever going to play Ironfall anyway. Stiff controls and action. A good try, but not a good enough game.

I was actually very hyped for Ironfall before it even came out - the engine looked impressive and the gameplay looked solid. The second it got released I downloaded it and played the free part... And it was nice. No complaints, but it didn't wow me in the story and gameplay.

So I can't play my Smash for glory until memchunkhax is released?
You can play online if you always turn off wifi before you close the 3DS.
Remember the 3DS's "Spotpass" feature downloads updates when the console is in sleep mode.
It can also lock out the web browser, forcing you to update if you want to use it again.
1) I need more space on my sd card, so can't do that and possibly won't.
Downloading Ironfall isn't really required, but it won't hurt.
Anyway a big SD card is great, especially when you're able to install anything you want.

There's only a minor problem with the New 3DS, that (at least for now) allows you to have the emunand only up to fw 9.5.
On the O3DS everything works perfectly, though (you can even install GBA and DSi games, though it's more comfortable to play them on sysnand).
Mine is set to autoboot into the 10.3 emunand and it's beautiful.

Install gba games? .CIA I just want devmenu or bigbluemenu.
So I can install blargsnes as a CIA. And maybe some piracy.

#36✎ 101DrZogI urge everyone to wait a few days until the downgrading tools mature a little. Downgrading is one of the most dangerous homebrew things you can do, so be careful and patient.

Been on the fence for a while :/
It's presently free so yes.
The old ironfall download was pulled yesterday. If you don't act soon, the browser sploits will be pulled too and then you can't install menuhax either. Your only option left then is to buy expensive used games or flashcarts to get homebrew.
