That would work if we had programs.

That would work if we had programs.
Well guess we need to inspire people/ promote the site

It's not exactly a "hot" pick if nobody's looking at it lol. If you want your program to be seen, you just need to make a good game. People really do look at new programs (I check the views). Look at "ASCII Platformer": it was brand new and it was the most viewed program when it was released. I'm probably going to add something like "recently popular" which will showcase programs that people are interested in currently, which will at least get people to see programs that might not be the most popular thing on the website overall, but which are popular right now. Edit: We want people to look at good games... if we cover the program list in bad games, we'll just become Wikia again. If I start finding programs which are awesome but not being seen, we can make a showcase specifically for programs which we think should be seen. It wouldn't be a "hot" pick, it'd be more like a "hidden gem".

OMG REALLY? MY GAME IS POPULAR?!? :D

Yes

Amazing! I never thought It would come to this!

We should do analysis on the effect of various things on program popularity. Do programs with screenshots really do better? Long descriptions? Short descriptions? Uploaded on the weekend or weekday? Where's the strikeout tag.

"Do programs with screenshots really do better" - Look at the front page of popular programs lol But yeah, that could be an interesting idea. But unless we get hundreds upon hundreds of programs with tons of comments and lots of good data, we'll basically just be making guesses. Trends are kind of hard to "verify" when you only have like 50 things to get your data from lol.

Yes ? random

This site isn't as big as the PTC wiki.... :( On the PTC wiki there were 902 pages and 508 users.

Yeah, this site only has like 200 users, and not all of them do anything on the site.

redacted

@Lumage I don't think Guzzler was complaining. And I don't think anybody is upset at the smallness of the website lol. Don't worry so much!

Don't take it that way lumage! I'm not criticizing anything, I'm just saying a possible reason for there not being much programs. There's nothing I could complain about this site.

Oh, yeah, you're right, I can't read.

Just want to say that smilebasicsource.com is coming along nicely. I've been lurking since the program's release, but finally joined recently. Adding the forum thread title (and page number) to the "Save As" dialog (right-click page) would be useful for those of us who like to keep the info for offline reading. Thanks for all the hard work you guys have done on the site. It shows!

Thank you, I'm glad the website is working out for people! I'm not sure how to fix the problems with "Save As"... we have dynamically generated content which probably conflicts with local copy stuff.

Maybe something similar can be done like when you right-click a Program page, this is what is generated there: (using the Raycaster page as example) "SmileBASIC Source Spooky Maze (Raycaster)" While in the forums this is what is generated: "SmileBASIC Source Forums" There might be an easy way to add the thread title/page number to that string. No big deal either way, just a minor inconvienence. Not worth detracting any time from other site improvements.

Are we talking about the filename, or the page content? Both can be done pretty easily but I haven't been following along.

I'm pretty sure Archive is talking about the HTML page title.
