What happened last night

Random, I don't believe you're a bad person if you thought Shadow was lying. Correct or incorrect, that thought made sense. I don't want anyone to think I'm taking a side.

So this is why the site was down last night.

It has nothing to do with thinking Shadow was lying. You should read the snippet he posted from my email; the whole thing was basically like that. You don't talk to kids like that if you're a good person.

I'll admit I didn't read everything.

look random every one makes mistakes, but now try to fix them instead of beating yourselves up. think about a better way of handling it next time.

I'm personally two-faced about this. I support random from the fact that he's trying to maintain a website and I truthfully would be doing the same thing. As for shadow, I support him from the fact that everyone is innocent until proven guilty. even though, I might have done the same thing, I guess it's not right to blame him without any actual evidence. On random's part again, why would you not forgive him? It seems kind of childish. That's all, I just gave my thought. EDIT: I never thought the site's staff liked each other too much (other than Lumage/random, they're kinda seeming buddy-buddy) but this incident didn't help very much. I don't want to see the community break up like this.

I don't have the ability to think when I get like that. The only solution is to just leave, which I'll be doing after I get as many features as I can into the website.

I don't know who is forgiving whom. I apologized to Shadow for being terrible, but he has every right not to forgive me.

It's takes a lot of maturity to say you were in the wrong so I respect you for that but it's all in the past just forget about it and move on.

I highly doubt that's a very good idea.

Don't leave :( Isn't this the second 'event' involving the website, random and a couple of users?

Hence the desire to leave. I'm just causing trouble. I'll still fix bugs and whatever, but I can't be here doing stuff. I'll make sure the website is pretty good before I go. Edit: Komodo is right, let's not worry about this anymore. The website is for SmileBASIC and having fun, not belaboring over stuff like this.

In other news, the chat isn't working.

As mainly a lurker I'm just going to step in here and say that you leaving would hurt this community. Don't worry about it all too much. People make mistakes and misunderstandings happen. Especially on the web. Your ability to self-evaluate and your desire to do the right thing far out-weighs any percieved flaws.

Pls don't leave :( Edit: I aggre with archive

A previous boss of mine took some interest in my own social incapabilities. There were at least two times when he called me in for a personal one-on-one in his office, and talked me through something or other that happened, that he thinks I could have handled better. I'll spare you the details - they're quite boring and rather unimportant - but he gave me one key piece of advice that is easier said than done, but I've been making an effort to keep. He said: Before anything you do, and more importantly, anything you say, always consider 'how would it benefit me to do this/say this? Will it actually end up causing me trouble?' It's not easy at all to do this, especially when you're getting emotional, but that's exactly when it's most important to do your best, keep your cool and think things through. It's a precious piece of advice that sounds trivial once you hear it, but it's something you probably never think of until you do... So random, this is mainly directed at you - next time something like this comes up, be it on the internet or in your own personal life, I beg you to try and realise this advice. For me, it didn't go so well the first few times I got emotional after trying to use this.. And I'll admit, I still do slip up every now and then. But I think I've managed to improve my social skills just a little tiny bit thanks to my amazing old boss.

Thanks for caring about me and the community, but I'm still probably leaving. Once all the features are here, you really won't need me anymore (not that you need me now). And HEY, this isn't Shadow's fault at all. I don't like how I treat everybody and I'm having a bad time. I'm sorry I said something about leaving; I shouldn't have said anything.

I respect this decision. The world is so vast and full of opportunity! Your life is worth more than moderating a community website. Just know that I think no less of you. You're the same CJ. But, you should probably put someone in your place (it probably shouldn't be me, just saying.) Someone respectable and intelligent (not that you aren't those things.) Bon voyage! Just be sure to pop in sometimes, k?

I'm sorry too, sometimes, about the things I've said. So I can understand that. Communities (and individuals) grow stronger by going through both good and bad times. Every "event" builds character and that equates to a better website. Again, don't beat yourself up too much. Mistakes happen. Keep at it. You add more to this site than just features. The community/site is not big enough to start losing people. Just want to make it clear that you're not just being patronized, or talked to like a child. Most adults can relate to messing things up a time or two. So we just move on. I've already forgot what this was all about (human attention span is less than a goldfish) lol Cheers to all!

Don't worry random, I think you're a much better person than Lumage. wai-
