    It would be easy to import the sprites. Could probably fake the school z-sorting issues with updating the Z of all the UI sprites based on which direction you're looking. Stairs and locker can be rendered with basic graphics screen 3D rendering and sprites to display them in the world. Needles piano takes input from a MIDI keyboard via Petit Modem... no that's too far. Okay but has anyone attempted hybrid rendering with 3D models as sprites in a raycasted world?     Posted

    That's not quite what I was thinking. I'm talking about rendering 3D GTRI models to a specific section of the spritesheet, and then placing those rendered models as sprites in the raycasted world. afaik, RAYCAST.LIB does update the Z coordinates of all the raycast slice sprites, so it would just be a matter of rotating the model properly. You even get Z-sorting for free because world sprites also get their Z coordinate updated on CALL SPRITE. Borderless does use sprites and GTRI 3D simultaneously, but it does not use raycasting.
