Petit Modem Audio Cables

I was able to transfer programs to my computer with Petit Modem with a single audio cable (like these:

) but I couldn't transfer the files back to the 3ds. Do I need a different type? Perhaps something like this: (

)? Also do transfers work between 3ds systems using splitters?

But if I use an "open circuit" sound communication system (speakers) then some data might get corrupted from external noise. Also it's really annoying to listen to. I haven't seen any 3 to 4 ring cables.

As far as I know, Petit Modem w/ ARQ makes transfers through air possible thanks to checks made on both ends. And if noise is an issue, I remember covering my laptop and 3DS with a quilt to hold the sound in back before SB File Manager existed. Just don't let your computer overheat if you are also using a laptop instead of, say, an external speaker.

Hmmm, that's creative. That could solve my pc to 3ds transfer issue without buying a new cable and splitter. Still will be pretty noisy though. <--- That's what more rooms are for?
