Now I don’t mean for anyone to get the wrong message here. I’m not declaring the end of SBS or my leaving the community. I’ve just noticed a dramatic decrease in activity around here lately, and wanted to leave something formal while I still can. I may not seem like the kinda person to give a heart-felt message, but this genuinely means a lot to me, so here ya go. Throughout the three years I’ve been here, I may have never exactly felt accepted, that I’m still the new guy, but everyone here has made an impact on my life in one way or another. Most likely without anyone realizing, the chat here and the people in it have gotten me through more tough times than I can recall. I’ll always be grateful for the moments we’ve had in there and the inside jokes we’ve killed. I may have become pretty quiet on chat in the past few months, but I’ve still got 30K ish messages in the chat logs to remember. While this message is more directed towards people who visited chat as often as me, anyone who was still active on the site in the last three years can count themselves a part of this. However, I really want to mention the people who are on the top of my head as I type this. Picy3, now known as SwanBot, was probably the first person on the Internet I actually enjoyed chatting with. We met on miiverse in early 2017, attempted and failed at making a game together, but still talked in chat literally every night for a solid year. Chicken, answer, and even 12, Y, Random, Lily, Chem, MBR, Perska, Miwa, Tri, and anyone else who occupied chat like a family, I’ll never forget you all. While I really miss the long-gone 2017 days of chat, all good (or at least fairly good) things come to an end eventually. Again, I don’t mean to say goodbye or anything since I can still contact most of these people. This is rather me acknowledging the importance of this specific site and all the memories I have of logging into it every other hour. Thank you.

thank you too, for being a part of the community and keeping it alive.

This message is fantastic! I got in this community probably too late, in 2019, because I discovered SmileBASIC too late. Anyway, I love that someone is keeping this community alive <3

I feel so sad... Thanks for being part of a beautiful community <3

alright so basically what's happened is: - new sbs (https://new.smilebasicsource.com/) was created quickly to make sure there's a place to put SB4 programs on English launch - since it's rough, there are problems and most old users stayed in old sbs chat - I started creating my own client and record is rewriting his, while random is adding new features to the backend - chicken left - me, random, answer, chem, record, perska, etc. moved to my client on the dev site (https://newdev.smilebasicsource.com/12/) until the main new site frontend can be updated

Thanks now I made an account there :D

Any idea what happened to SwanBot?

Any idea what happened to SwanBot?
Nope, nobody knows. Its completely a mystery... Somebody say he moved onto bigger things... Somebody say weird theories. To the day, we dont know. (Epic poem to SwanBot)

That makes a bit of sense.

Damn, i had to check what's up with SmileBasic after so long and i see this... You guys got me into programming and i'm grateful that i could start out in here because i learned so much, though i cringe a lot when i read my old messages haha. Thank you all for this!
